Create an email outreach campaign

Goal: Create a campaign on Apollo to bulk send your outreach emails to potential customers.
Ideal Outcome: Successfully send your outreach emails to a list of prospects for your business.
Prerequisites or requirements: You need to have an Apollo account (free to sign up).
Why this is important: Using an outreach tool will help you track and manage the outreach emails you send more easily.

Build an outreach email list on Apollo.
- Login to your Apollo account, head to “Engage”, then click “Create new sequence”.
- Agree to the Terms and Service.
- Create a new sequence.
Note: Sequence is a series of email(s) you send to a list of contacts. - Name your sequence and click “Create”.
Note: It’s best to follow a standardized naming convention for sequence/email campaigns to help you identify them in the future. An example naming would be [Objective] - [Context]. - Add a new step for the sequence.
- Set the duration for when you want to send the emails after you activate the sequence.
For example: If you set the duration to 30 mins. Your email will only be sent 30 mins after you activate the sequence (step 17). - Add your outreach email and click “Save changes”.
Tip: Use snippets to add personalization to your email. For example, addressing the first name of the recipient. - Once you’ve set up your email, proceed to add the contact list by selecting “Add Contacts” ➝ “Upload CSV”.
Note: If you have not created your list of contacts to outreach. Follow this SOP. - Select the contact list (CSV) from your computer.
- You will then see the list of imported contacts. Scroll down to the bottom and click “Import”.
- Select your list of contacts and click “Save”.
- Next, select “Add to sequence” and select the sequence that you’ve just created. Then click “Confirm”.
- A warning pop-up will show. Click “Save people” to add the list of contacts to your sequence.
- You’ve now finished setting up your email sequence. Before activating the sequence, it’s recommended to send a test email to yourself — to spot any spelling mistakes. Head to your sequence dashboard and select your sequence.
- Select your email.
- Click “Send Test Email to Me”.
- Once you’ve checked the email. Head back to the sequence dashboard and activate the sequence by flipping the activation toggle.
- That’s it! You’ve now launched your outreach campaign to your customer prospects.
